Poets Sqaure: He Comes / A.J. Hendry
Painting by Julia Bridget Lynch
He did not come amongst the powerful, but amongst the low
Not amongst the strong, but the weak
He came vulnerable, poor, homeless He came weak, amongst rebels and outcasts Amongst the excluded and cast aside To a people colonized and oppressed
He came as a baby, born into poverty, amongst filth, unwanted by his nations king, hated before he even drew his first birth.
He came as one of us.
He came to be one with us
To bring freedom, to bring hope, to bring salvation
He came
